Abelard

Chêne Bleu's Abélard is the flagship red of this remarkable estate in Les Dentelles de Montmirail, Southern Rhône, France. An 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah blend drawn from vines over 40 years old at 530m altitude, it spends 18 months in French oak. The result is a wine of brooding depth: dark cherry, sweet spice, mocha, and silky tannins that build to an ample finish. Xavier and Nicole Rolet spent over a decade restoring the ancient Domaine de La Verrière before their first commercial vintage. Pair with roast beef, venison, or duck.
