Alento Branco Reserva

The reserve expression of Adega Monte Branco's white range, from Estremoz at the cooler northern edge of the Alentejo. Arinto (70%) and Antão Vaz (30%) are hand-harvested, given eight hours of skin contact, then fermented entirely in used 300-litre French oak barrels with six weeks of battonage, ageing a further five months in wood. The result is a citrus-hued white with fresh fruit and mineral aromas, subtle barrel integration, full body and a refreshing acidity unusual for such a warm region, closing on a long mineral finish.
