Cuvee Julia

Named for Julia Peña García, this vivid Bierzo red is made from a single organically-farmed parcel in Valtuille de Abajo planted in 1920 with a co-planted field blend of Mencía, Godello, Doña Blanca, Malvasia, and more. Whole uncrushed grapes undergo intracellular fermentation with indigenous yeast, then age on fine lees for 11 months in used French oak. The result is a vin de soif of compelling freshness: strawberry, raspberry, and currant on the nose, vibrant acidity, velvety tannins.
