Kuusu by Oxer Wines

Kuusu is Oxer Bastegieta's personal homage to Toro, the region where he tasted his very first glass of wine as a child. Ninety-two percent Tinta de Toro and eight percent Albillo Mayor from a single 0.9-hectare plot planted in 1920 at over 600 metres on sandy quartz soils, yielding just 903 bottles. Fermented in open wooden vat, foudre and concrete egg with indigenous yeasts, then aged thirteen months in foudre, Kuusu is powerful yet fresh: blackcurrant, dark cherry, rose petal, dark chocolate and chilli spice, with a long mineral finish.
