Manttoni

Manttoni is one of Oxer Bastegieta's most intimate wines, with just 1,300 bottles produced from a carefully tended plot beside his home in Rioja Alavesa, blended with century-old vines from Leza and Navaridas. Fifty percent Tempranillo, with Garnacha, Mazuelo, Maturana Tinta and Graciano making up the rest, it ferments with native yeasts before ten months in used 600-litre French oak. The wine carries the cool precision of high-altitude calcareous clay soils: structured, fresh and distinctly elegant. A rare find among Basque wines in Malta.
