Monte Branco Alicante Bouschet

A focused, single-varietal statement from Adega Monte Branco in Estremoz, Alentejo. This is 100% Alicante Bouschet from schist and limestone soils, hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine then ages for 20 months in used 300-litre French oak barrels, drawing out minerality and structure without domesticating its character. Austere and firm on the nose, with vibrant mineral complexity and excellent tannins, it finishes long and uncompromising. Only 3,895 bottles produced. Winemakers Luís Louro and Inês Capão.
