The Nizza D.O.C.G. is where Frasca La Guaragna steps into Barbera's finest expression. Co-founded by Italian-American entrepreneur Curt Frasca and winemaker Matteo Gerbi, formerly at Gaja and Bruno Giacosa, this Piedmont estate draws 100% Barbera from 30-year-old vines across Nizza Monferrato, Agliano Terme and Moasca. Whole berries enter the ferment with long maceration and no pump-over, preserving structure and elegance. Six months in large oak add depth without overpowering the fruit. Expect concentrated dark cherry, hints of spice and a long, food-friendly finish. Ideal with braised meats, aged cheeses or Piedmontese classics.
