Pago de los Capellanes Parcela El Picón

From a single 1.6-hectare plot on the El Picón estate in Pedrosa de Duero, this is one of Pago de los Capellanes' most sought-after wines and has been vinified separately since 1998. The clay-loam soil with surface gravel and the naturally low yields on this parcel produce a wine of exceptional concentration and aromatic complexity. The nose opens with fresh blackberry, violet, graphite and plum; the palate is full-bodied, precise and long, with firm but polished tannins and the kind of density that rewards cellaring for a decade or more.
