Pinot Nero St. Daniel

Pinot Nero St. Daniel comes from cool, medium-altitude vineyards in the Alto Adige, where Colterenzio's member-family growers coax Pinot Nero to its most expressive form. The Schreckbichl cooperative, whose quality revolution began under Luis Raifer in 1979, produces a wine of real finesse here: vivid ruby in colour, with a nose of ripe cherry, raspberry and subtle earthy undertones. On the palate the tannins are silky and precise, the finish long and clean. A beautiful wine with roasted duck, rabbit, mushroom dishes and semi-aged cheeses.
