Son D Luna

Bodegas Marisol Rubio's first red wine is a bold declaration from a winery that made its name with white. Son d Luna is 100% Cencibel (Tempranillo) from old vines on the La Rizosa estate, Villanueva de Alcardete, Toledo, grown at 837 metres on limestone soils that give the wine its distinctive mineral backbone. Harvested by hand, fermented in underground concrete tanks, then aged eight months in oak, it opens with ripe red fruit, lactic and smoky notes, and a thread of creamy caramel. The palate is broad and round, with a long, chalky finish. Pairs with grilled lamb, aged cheese, or slow-cooked Iberian pork. Exclusively imported in Malta by Briffa Wine Selections.
